Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Juliane Bodini began her career at the age of 11 when she discovered her passion for performing arts taking theatre classes at school, captivated by the stage. 

Following her passion, she decided to further her education and skills by enrolling in the renowned South American performing arts school CAL - Casa das Artes de Lranjeiras/Creative Arts Laboratory, upon completing high school. This move marked a significant step in her professional journey, providing her a Bachelor´s Degree in Performing Arts and opportunities to refine her craft in the field through professional training. 

Juliane's professional journey began after graduating from CAL. She embarked on her career by joining the theatre company OmondÉ where she participated in various productions, honing her skills and gaining valuable experience on stage.

Among the many plays she was involved in, one notable production is As Conchanbranças de Quaderna by the renowned Brazilian playwright Ariano Suassuna, who is celebrated for his deep reflection of Brazilian heritage and culture.

Throughout her time with the theatre company OmondÉ, Juliane was nominated to the FITA Award 2012, in the production of Os Mamutes.

Juliane´s passion for storytelling has taken her across borders, including being part of the cast of Maravilloso at the Iberoamerican Theatre Festival in Bogota, Colombia, in 2013. Juliane's diverse career also led her to also explore the world of musical theater early on. She has been involved in numerous Brazilian productions. Some notable productions she has been a part of include:

Cássia Eller - O Musical: This musical had toured across 27 cities in Brazil and it tells the story of the Brazilian rock singer Cássia Eller, known for her powerful voice and unique style. Juliane was also nominated for the Bibi Ferreira Award, one of the most important awards in the musical theatre scene in Brazil.

Cazuza - Pro dia nascer feliz, O Musical: Another significant production, this musical is based on the life and music of the iconic Brazilian rock musician Cazuza.

Rock in Rio - O Musical: This musical celebrates the famous Rock in Rio festival, one of the largest music festivals in the world, which originated in Brazil.

Company: Juliane also ventured onto Broadway with a role in the Brazilian version of the acclaimed musical Company.

Juliane is not only an actress and singer, but also a theatre producer. With a passion for bringing creative ideas to life, she has embarked on an exciting journey of producing her own shows, bringing captivating stories to the stage.

In 2017, Juliane propelled her career to new heights with her performance in Dancer in the Dark, a theatre adaptation by New Yorker Patrick Ellsworth of the Oscar-winning film by Lars Von Trier. Producing and starring in the lead role originally played by Björk, Juliane brought Selma's character to the stage. Dancer in the Dark received critical acclaim, garnering nominations for 20 awards, including SHELL, Cesgranrio, and Bibi Ferreira, and Juliane earned the prestigious award of Best Actress in a Musical, in 2018.

Despite the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, Juliane embarked on a journey to produce an online musical solo titled Luas de Júpiter/ Jupiter Moon.

In this production, in the year 2021, amidst the chaos of a pandemic-stricken Earth, an extraterrestrial being arrives with a chilling mission: to exterminate the human population. Led by the musical direction of Marcelo Alonso Neves and original music and lyrics by Marcelo Frankel, this gripping tale unfolds against the backdrop of Sesc Copacabana Arena Theater, devoid of its usual audience.

In addition to her performances on stage, Juliane has also made her path in the world of streaming and television. Audiences can catch her in the Netflix series Girls From Ipanema/Coisa Mais Linda and in the Prime Video movie And They Say I am the Crazy One/Depois a Louca Sou Eu, available for viewing worldwide. Juliane's TV appearences extends to soap operas and she graced the screen as part of the cast of the popular Sunday show Domingão do Faustão.

In 2022, Juliane embarked on a new chapter of her journey, making the bold decision to relocate to Canada, and despite the obstacles that came with starting anew in a different country, Juliane refused to let go of her dreams.

As an immigrant in a foreign country, far from the comfort of home, family, and friends, she faced unique challenges and embraced the opportunity to immerse herself in a new culture and showcase her work on unfamiliar stages.

Juliane´s talent didn´t get unnoticed and she has continued to thrive in the Canadian theatre scene. Recently, she was cast to play “Ilona” in the production of the Broadway show She Loves Me, directed by Marion Brenner, and it marks her debut on a Canadian stage.

Juliane is also in the cast of the Edmonton Musical Theatre upcoming production of Miscasts, directed by Sonja Gould.

Offstage, Juliane's personal life has also blossomed, as she recently joyfully said "yes" to the love of her life, marking the beginning of an exciting journey together with her husband.
